LIGHT KITS
WARNING
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK,
OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
1. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer.
If you have questions, contact the manufacturer at the
address or telephone number listed in the warranty.
2. Before servicing or cleaning unit, or installing a light kit,
switch power off at service panel and lock service panel
to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.
When the service disconnecting means cannot be locked,
securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag,
to the service panel.
3. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by a
qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes
and standards, including fire-rated construction codes and
standards.
4. Make sure all wire connections are secure, and that there
are no exposed conductor strands.
5. Attention: The Energy Policy Act of 2005 requires this light
kit to be equipped with a 190 watt limiting device. If lamping
exceeds 190 watts, the ceiling fan’s light kit will shut off
automatically.
6. Do not use water or detergents when cleaning the light kit.
A dry dust cloth or lightly dampened cloth will be suitable
for most cleaning.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock,
this light kit should be used only with these fan models
manufactured by Broan-NuTone LLC: CFS52WH, CFS52PB,
CFS52BS, CFS52RB, CFH52WH, CFH52PB, CFH52BS,
CFH52RB, CFC56WH, CFC56BR.
NOTE: Before starting installation, disconnect the power by
turning off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse at fuse
box. Turning power off using the fan switch is not sufficient
to prevent electric shock.
1. Remove the screws from the switch cup plate to allow easy
wiring. (Fig. 1)
2. Remove and discard the center plug
fr
om the switch cup.
Attach the light kit to the switch cup by feeding the wires
and threading the light kit through the hole of the switch
cup, secure it to the switch cup by nut & lock washer. Be
sure it is tight enough to prevent the light kit from vibrating
loose. (Fig. 1)
3. Locate two single white and blue wires in the switch cup
labeled “FOR LIGHT”.
4. Make the wire connections as follows and secure with the
wire nuts provided. Connect white wire from switch cup to
white wire from light kit. Connect blue wire from switch cup
to black from light kit.
5. While holding the switch cup, firmly snap the wire
molexes together. Next, slide switch cup up against plate
and rotate it until the
screw holes are aligned.
Secure switch cup to
plate using the screws
removed earlier. (Fig. 2)
6. Slide the switch cup up
over the switch cup plate
and rotate until the screw
holes are aligned. Secure
the switch cup with
three screws previously
removed. (Fig. 2)
7. For greatest energy
efficiency, install (2) 13
Watt compact fluorescent
bulbs (included). (Fig. 3)
Note: For incandescent
lighting, this light kit can
accept (2) 40W, medium-
base incandescent bulbs.
(Purchase
incandescent
bulbs separately.) DO
NOT EXCEED MAXIMUM
WATTAGE RATING.
8. Remove the rubber
washer, metal nut, glass
cap and decorative nut
from the light kit. Place
glass shade over the
light kit stem, secure
with the rubber washer,
metal nut, glass cap and
decorative nut. Do not
overtighten. (Fig. 3)
9. Restore power and check
light kit operation.
Note: Make sure to leave
enough space between the
fan pull chain and the bulbs
so the chain doesn’t rub
against any of the bulbs.

light kit is: 26.8 llbs.
